The Newcastle Knights have today announced the re-signing of True Blue centre Bradman Best, who will remain at the club until at least the end of the 2027 season.

The Woy Woy Roosters Junior has progressed through the Knights pathways system before making his NRL debut in Round 23, 2019, against the Wests Tigers.

The 22-year-old is now staying put at the club he has called home for most of his footballing career.

“I am very grateful to be a part of this club for a few more years,” Best said.

“I’ve been here since I was 13 and I love it here, I love the community, I love the boys and I love what this club is building.

“This club means a lot to me, and I wanted to stay here and be a big part in the club’s success.

“I just can’t wait to rip in.”

Best had a sterling two-try debut in his opening match for the Westpac NSW Blues in Game Three last July. He will be hoping a big 2024 will see him retain his jersey when the series begins at Accor Stadium on 5 June.

“Playing last year was definitely a dream come true, as a little kid that’s all I wanted to do,” Best said.

“First and foremost, I need to play good footy here and hopefully rep honours will follow.”

Newcastle Director of Football Peter Parr, a former NSW Blues team manager, believes the young centre’s signing is a great outcome for the club.

“We are delighted Bradman has re-committed to the Knights,” Parr told newcastleknights.com.au

“Bradman had a wonderful season in 2023 and at his age there is no doubt will continue to grow and improve.

“We look forward to Bradman playing a significant role for the club in the coming years.”
