Blues dominate Indigenous All Stars Team

The NSWRL congratulates Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues Josh Addo-Carr, Jack Wighton and Cody Walker for making the Indigenous All Stars squad to face the Maori All Stars squad at Old Country Bank Stadium on Saturday 20 February.

Carr, Wighton and Walker were named in Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues Brad Fittler’s extended 27-man squad for the Ampol State of Origin series and represented the Blues in all three games in November.

The 20-man Indigenous squad, coached by former Blues coach and legend Laurie Daley, also includes several other players who have represented NSW in Latrell Mitchell, Blake Ferguson, Andrew Fifita, Wade Graham and Tyrone Peachey, while Jesse Ramien and Brian Kelly have been through the pathways system.

Harvey Norman NSW Women's players Quincy Dodd and Shaylee Bent were named in the Indigenous All Stars team, as well as Corban McGregor, Botille Vette-Welsh and Shanice Parker in the Maori All Stars team. 

The Maori All Stars includes Jarome Luai, who has also been through the pathways system and was part of Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler’s extended 27-man squad for last year’s Origin series. 

Harvey Norman NSW Women's player Kennedy Cherrington was named in the Maori All Stars team, who was part of the Women's extended squad for their 2020 State of Origin game.
