True Blue and former Jillaroos co-captain Sam Bremner has today been appointed St George Illawarra Dragons’ first Female Football Manager across all the club’s pathways teams leading up into NRLW level.
For Bremner it’s a return to the club where she was inaugural Dragons NRLW captain in 2018 and played two seasons before leaving to start a family. She most recently played with the Sydney Roosters in the NRLW after stints with two Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership clubs, Helensburgh Tigers and Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.
She also had a stellar representative career with nine Test matches for Australia, including three World Cups, and seven games for the NSW Sky Blues.
Bremner will start her new Dragons role on 1 November overseeing the club’s women’s football program, taking charge of the overall pathways and coaching structure, working on the development of the next generation of female Rugby League stars right through to the shaping of the Dragons NRLW roster.
Bremner said she relished the opportunity to return to the club in a key role.
"I am really excited to return home once my playing commitments finish at the end of this season," Bremner told Dragons.com.au
"St George Illawarra Dragons is where my NRLW journey began, so it’s nice to have things come full circle.”
