Cordner ruled out of WCC

Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues captain Boyd Cordner has been ruled out of the World Club Challenge.

Cordner’s Roosters will play St Helens on Sunday morning (AEST)  with Sitili Tupouniua set to play in his place while Angus Crichton will move to centre.

It is understood that the Roosters are managing Cordner’s workload by resting him rather than the skipper actually being injured.

"It's a hard pill to swallow," Cordner told Nine newspapers. "They're discussions that have been happening for a few years now … I missed the start of the pre-season last year; first with pneumonia and then a calf injury. I had one week of prep heading into the season."
