Westpac NSW Blues forward Angus Crichton has become the first player to win consecutive RLPA ‘Player of the Month’ awards off the back of his scintillating form for the Sydney Roosters.
In May he was voted best player in the NRL with five tries in four games.
He backed that up in June with another two tries in as many games giving him eight for the year so far from 13 matches.
Crichton also racked up 16 tackle breaks, nine offloads and ran an average 138 metres per NRL game last month.
For June, he out-polled three other True Blues – Keaon Koloamatangi, Mitchell Moses and Brian To’o – as well as Kiwis international Jahrome Hughes.
“On behalf of the RLPA I would like to congratulate Angus on being voted the first back-to-back winner by NRL players for June,” said True Blue Jamie Buhrer, who is also RLPA General Manager of Player and Football Operations.
“It is a credit to Angus and his rich vein of form and it’s no surprise that it’s also coincided with a successful month for his Roosters.”
The Sydney Roosters had a bye in early June but have then won four straight.
Crichton’s run of form has also led to his 12th and 13th Origin appearances.
He was named on Sunday night to play his 14th game for NSW in the 2024 Ampol State of Origin series decider at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday 17 July.
