'He’s just a real bundle of energy'

Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler believes David Nofoaluma is ‘killing it’ in the NRL at the moment and the Wests Tigers winger will be hoping for much better luck this season than one of the few times he a got a chance to pull on a representative jumper.

Nofoaluma leads the NRL for tackle breaks with 46 after seven rounds of football, has also scored eight tries, had three try assists and made five line breaks. While his attack is not a problem, he still needs to work on his defence after missing 11 from 34 tackles this season.

His only representative jumper came in 2016 when he was selected for the City Origin team – which was coached by Fittler - but he lasted only five minutes before having to leave the field after a head knock.

“He’s a nice fella Dave and he’s killing it,” Fittler told Five with Freddy.

“He’s just a real bundle of energy and at the moment he’s scoring tries and doing some awesome things.

“There’s a lot of NSW players playing really well, a lot of Sydney clubs doing really well and it’s great to see.

“That’s the key. Blokes just keep pushing blokes and that’s how you get the best team and the best performance on the night because the pressure to get into the position they’ve dealt with it.

“They’ve dealt with it week in week out by just aiming up and being better than their opposition. The better they can all go the better it is for me as coach of the Origin team.”
