South Sydney Rabbitohs have received a major boost on the eve of the NRL competition restarting after announcing that Cameron Murray would remain at the club until the end of 2025.

Murray, 22, has played 62 games for the Rabbitohs since making his debut in 2017 and got his first taste of representative football last year after being chosen to make his debut for the Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues and Australian Kangaroos.

“It’s very exciting for me and a great relief to have a large chunk of my future sorted now, and to know it will be at this Club that I love is very special for me and my family,” Murray told rabbitohs.com.au.

“I count my lucky stars at how everything has fallen into place and I have no intention of letting this go or slackening off. It means way too much to me, to play for this Club and to represent it every day.

“For almost the next six years at least I will be a Rabbitoh and the journey is really only just starting for me.”

Murray, a Mascot Jets Junior who was also named Dally M Lock of the Year in 2019, will line up in the second row to face arch rivals the Sydney Roosters at Bankwest Stadium on Friday night.
